Entry #15

The Transporter

14th January 2019

It was time for the Katong Lifestyle & Vintage Market. A few days ago, Gary, the event organiser, had sent me the photo of where our booth table would be. Although the table was quite low, I felt that it was a good location as it was located right outside Starker , which is a popular bar, and the booth was right near the entrance of Katong Square which would mean people who want to enter or leave the mall would definitely pass by our booth.

For the two days of the event, I was tasked to be the driver. I borrowed my brother's car and each morning I drove down to Ram's house to pick up our merchandise and the booth setup items. Once done, I had to transport the items to Katong Square where Ram and I helped our teammates on duty to setup the booth. We displayed our painted terracotta pots and terrariums as shown below.

Once the booth setup is done, I drove back home. Every night after the closing of the booth, I would have to drive down to the event location, load up our merchandise and other items in the car and transport them back to Ram's house. By doing this, we managed save on parking charges.

I felt the overall sales for the event was not too bad as the booth rental cost was quite affordable too. According to the reviews from my group mates, the event was indeed a very different experience. I feel that it is important to continue going for different types of events to learn more and grow.

With that, this is Shiju, signing out!
