Entry #13

Joining the Parade

27th December 2018

2018 is coming to an end and it was time to start laying out the events for the start of 2019. Shun Kai and I had already done thorough research and came up with a list of possible events that we could participate for in the month of January. Among the list of events, the one that really caught my eye was the MOX Parade that was to be held at School of the Arts (SOTA) on 25th January to 27th January. It was an event that my team had always to go for as well because we would be able to promote our merchandise to a different target market. I pitched this event to my group first and they were all agreeable to participate for the event in January.

Before I booked the event, my group and I went for a site survey at the location where the MOX Parade was to be held. We spent quite sometime there and noticed the crowd that walked by the area.

MOX Parade had outdoor booths and indoor booths. The outdoor booth location was really good. Mainly students from Singapore Management University (SMU) and people going to the Cathay building walked past the area. It was indeed a more vibrant crowd as compared to the crowd we had in our previous events. We also went to look at the indoor booth location.

The indoor booth location did not have as much crowd flow as the outdoor booth location. We always felt that the locations of our booths in previous events were that not good. Thus, for the MOX Parade, we decided that we would pay a little more extra to book an outdoor booth to be able to showcase our products to a higher percentage of crowd. With that, I booked for an outdoor booth for MOX Parade through the Fleawhere website. The booth cost was about $340 for the 3 day event from 25th to 27th January. Our booth would be under 2m x 2m Gazebo tent and electricity would be provided.

I am pretty confident that through MOX Parade, Frond would definitely reach to new heights. With one major event booked for January, Frond still needed a few more events for the month.
