Entry #10

Events in December

30th November 2018

As December is coming, it was my job to secure the events that Frond would be participating in for the month. The following are the events that I managed to register for my team for the coming month:

OCBC Event

I managed to make a new friend, called Sathia, during the TGIF Bazaar. Sathia worked in OCBC and when he visited our booth, he really loved the designs we had for our terrariums and he thought that his colleagues would love to buy them to put at their office desks. He took down my number and said that he would try to talk to his friend at the OCBC Recreational Centre and perhaps arrange for us a booth at OCBC itself to sell our terrariums to their employees.

A few days later, he texted me saying that the OCBC Recreational Centre was agreeable to giving us a free booth for a private event just for OCBC employees. We were given options to hold our booth at either the OCBC buildings at Raffles Place or Tampines. We were also given a few days in December to choose from to hold our event. Most of the dates they offered was on the first week of December. As all of my group mates would be having their exams during that period, we decided to go for the 10th and 11th December. In terms of the location, we chose OCBC Building at Raffles Place for both days as we were informed that there were more employees there as compared to Tampines.

I was informed a few days later that the booth was confirmed for us at the OCBC Centre South Building located at Raffles Place and the event would be held on 10th and 11th December from 11am to 3pm. I was informed that to advertise our booth. we had to create and send an email, with photos and descriptions of our products, to the OCBC Recreational Centre who would forward this email to all OCBC employees. Cleo would help us to create and design the email. Apart from that, I also managed to arrange for a recce of the booth in the OCBC Centre South Building on the 7th December. Cheryl and Ram would be going for this recce and from there we would learn more about where exactly the booth would be located at and the size of the booth.

This would be the first corporate event that Frond would be participating in and I'm so glad that I managed to arrange it.

Christmas Bazaar

Christmas was the holiday that our team was keen on taking advantage of for our sales all these while. However, the search for a booth for Christmas sales started after we had completed the TGIF Bazaar, which was quite late. All the booths for most of the good spots for Christmas sales were fully booked. Through SPAZES, I managed to find a booth available for a 7 days event at Viva Business Park. I felt that a 7 days sale would be really taxing for us and thus I kept searching for another good event booth for Christmas. Through The Event Society, I managed to find a booth for a 3 days Christmas Bazaar event held at City Square Mall from the 21st December to 23rd December. My group was agreeable to it and thus I secured the booth. The booth was for $128 for all 3 days and we also took $30 rental for electricity.

I'm looking forward for both of these events and I hope that we able to garner good sales from them! This is Shiju, signing out!
