Ram Entry #20

25th Feb 2019

Mox Parade was one of the more well received and profitable event that our group participated in. We planned to go for it again in this month in hope to engage the same responsive crowd and also achieve around the same profits as the previous time.

Pre-event:

Prior to this event, we were scheduled for different days to be managing the booth at MOX Parade. My shift was on Sunday and as all the stocks were at my place. The team decided to prepare the stocks required for the event at an earlier date. Both Shiju and Shun Kai informed me that they would let me know their estimated numbers for the the stocks to be brought for the MOX parade event.

After receiving their estimated numbers, I arranged the terrariums and the glasses all into one tray for the ease of transportation.Adding to that, I placed a few terracotta pots to be brought to the event as our team decided to utilize the table space and try selling the designed leftover pots. Subsequently all the other necessary materials such as the sand box, touch-up kits and setup box were already well arranged at the end of the day during the last day of the Terra Village @ East Coast Park. Lastly, only the quantity of squirt bottles and papers bags were decided by Shun Kai and myself which we had to be brought over for the event.

Overall , we felt that MOX Parade on the second attempt generated less sales in comparison to the first MOX parade. I felt there were two particular reasons which contributed to the low sales.

First Reason: The weather was really hot and noticed most people were trying to find shelters and air-conditioned areas to cool off which I believe caused at least several of our potential customers to refrain from coming into our booth.

Second Reason: The stall located beside us was selling accessories that were more catered towards lifestyle.I felt that even some customers who were looking at our terrariums initially chose to buy the lifestyle products.

However, the DIY concept was still a success as it had more sales generated in the second attempt and we noticed that some of the customer replicated our beach designs. Some of the existing designs we changed at the MOX Parade with an aim to sell it . Fortunately, our actions paid off as some of the customers liked the designs we did and bought a few of the revised designs.

In conclusion, I felt MOX Parade on the second attempt was not as fruitful as the first attempt, On the other hand, our DIY concept and the customer flow is still high in my opinion.
