Jiaxin Entry #18

We had a consultation session with Mr Roderick and Mr Adrian last Saturday and we updated them on Frond’s current progress.

SK summarized the list of events that we have participated in for the past few months, and the different type of customers that we had tried reaching out to. We also talked about our product development and market testing for the Terracotta Pots and DIY Terrariums.

It was great that we have tried out new products, which allowed us to view the market from a wider perspective: Painted Terracotta Pots were not well received but the DIY Terrarium was a hot favorite among kids.

We then talked about the financials and our biggest worry – manpower & transportation cost!

Some of the feedbacks that we had received were

  • We could recruit external parties to make/sell our terrariums since wages was our greatest concern
  • We could look into Funzing and Lhoko that promotes startups that organises workshops i.e. DIY concepts

With that, we ended our consultation session, and the next and final update on our progress will be the business show case presentation in March.

After the consultation, our team held a discussion to review the things that were discussed earlier on, and to decide on our next course of action. We have decided to leverage on the huge audience on online platforms by extending our Carousell into also providing DIY terrarium.

Cleo suggested making an online order form, for easy collation of all orders and portraying a more professional image of our brand.

Ram and I will be in charge of taking photos of everything for the DIY – the figurines, the available plants, the sand colors and Cleo will use the images for the form.

With Valentine’s Day in 10 days’ time, our DIY terrariums might be able to attract people that want to create a personalize item for their partner. Hence, we hope to launch our online DIY terrarium ASAP to reach out to the potential demand.
