Saturday
We went for Mox Parade again from 22nd to 24th February since our products were well received the first time.
Because we went for the same event and managed to get the same location, we decided to do some things differently.
Terracotta Pots
Unlike the previous time where we brought only a few pots with plants potted in them, we brought the plants separately instead. At previous events, some customers wanted the pots but did not like the plants that were potted in it, so we decided to let customers pick the plants that they wanted and we would pot it for them on the spot.
The sales for terracotta pots had never been high across all events, which was why we were surprised that this method made people more receptive towards it. The number of terracotta pots sold was almost double that of the previous month's Mox Parade.
Even though the number of terracotta pots sold is still far from that of our terrariums, we found that this is an effective way of selling it.
Terrariums
Once again, we set up an additional table for people to do DIY terrariums. However, this time round we decided to make terrariums on the spot as well so that we can make good use of the time when there are no customers. This meant that we went with only half a tray of ready-made terrariums which saved us a lot of preparation time.
DIY Sales were higher than that of ready made in February compared to January. We lowered the price of our DIY terrariums to $15 (from $17 previously) which attracted more customers. Most of our customers were once again children who came with their parents, and occasionally couples as well.
Generally, the Mox Parade event in February was quite similar to that of January's with more terracotta pots and DIY terrariums getting sold. As we conclude this event, we are looking forward to other areas where booking fees are lower and into more avenues of sale.
