Entry #18
Terra Village @ East Coast Park
9 - 10 February 2019
Terra Village @ East Coast Park is another event that we looked forward to, as we planned to let customers do the terrariums themselves from scratch. We also removed the cactus plants that we have as they pose a potential safety issue if customers were to use them.
The main reason we decided to try out terrarium making at this venue as the general crowd around East Coast Park are usually not in a rush, and they are here to enjoy their day off with families and having a good experience is their main priority.
In this event, we were the only external vendor they had, and the others were mainly volunteers. As a result, our booth setup and presentation were much better as compared to theirs.
We decided to mainly target the families around here, and we took many different approach to do so. More often than so, we would bait the children with our figurines to gain their attention. If the parents seemed more interest than the children, we will actively promote the idea of experiencing repotting of plants, and the responsibility of taking care of the plant.
Personally i enjoyed this event a lot as the interactions with the kids and parents were very engaging. It was fun to see them actively learn about how to take care of the plants and design their own terrariums.
