Entry #3
My First Time
13th October 2018
Today we went down to a terrarium workshop held by The Green Capsule. We attended workshop to learn more and making and designing terrariums. It was my first time doing terrariums so I'm feeling pretty excited and looked forward to learn about the basic of designing terrariums.
Even though our group initially wanted to do a succulent or air plant terrarium, we were given ornamental plants for our terrarium. As a result, we digressed slightly from our original idea. We were guided step by step and our guide told us the function of it in the terrarium. To begin with, we were given small pebbles of 3 varying colours for the base of our terrariums. I personally chose the white and black pebbles to create an oreo-like design for my base.
After which, we filled roughly one third of the terrarium with soil with a slight slope to better display the plants. The insertion of plants and Holland moss was the tricky part. I felt that it was challenging to shift the plant into the terrarium, it is difficult to keep the plant in the position I want as the soil is loose. Holland moss was relatively easier as compared to shifting the plants but i definitely had my struggles with it. After all these, the pebbles are used as decoration.
HERE COMES THE EXCITING PART!!
We chose our figurines for our terrariums. I took a pair of rabbits because I wanted something adorable. Take a look at the end product!
That's all for now.
Tune in for the next chapter.
