Today was our first experience in putting up a booth in the Free Of Charge event at OCBC Centre. Shun kai, Cheryl , Jia Xin and myself decided to meet up earlier so that we could load up the items and arrive at OCBC Centre earlier so that I could finding spot to park in the coupon lot as the Parking charges were pretty expensive in the multi storey car park.
Upon reaching the location, I unloaded the items and let the guys bring to the Recreational Club in the OCBC Centre while i went to find an area to park the car.
Our first day, our sales was low, although we had alot of walk in customer just to view the terrariums.There were other booth vendors who sold clothes, snacks and cakes which equally attracted the crowd and as it was lunch timing which was another factor for the snacks and cakes. Being lunch time, these booth had a better response from the crowd.
After the first day, we reflected on the event and ways to attract customers thus we made changes to the way we handled the customers and occupying their attention.
We managed to get better sales on the second day due to the strategy we took up and also the competitor vendors were not the same as the first day. Thus, we had more customers who were attracted to see our product and clarify their queries.
In conclusion:
- It raised a doubt in our minds whether corporate was our potential market
- Methods of promoting and handling customers
