Jiaxin Entry #5

Quick update for the week!

Firstly, we have managed to secure a spot for a flea market event at Whitesands. The dates that we signed up for falls into the festive edition and the curation for sellers were much stricter. Having submitted images of our terrariums and securing a spot meant something to us.

I also planned the social media posting schedule for this month and can't wait to publicize Frond to the public.

Today, together with Shiju, Cleo, Cheryl, we went to a wholesale plant nursery in Khatib (Hua Hng Trading).

As compared to Pick a Plant, this plant nursery is so much bigger with a wider variety of plants to choose from. Our main purpose of this trip was to look at their available succulent plants and shortlist those that we want to be placed in the 5 themed terrariums that we had decided last week.

This week, we were appalled to find that some of the plants we had used did not survive the week. This is something worrying as we will be having our first ever event in 3 weeks. However, we also found that most of the ones that did not survive were the tiny yet beautiful sedums. Those sedums were rather fragile and it was a great challenge for us when we tried to re-pot it. Hence, at the plant nursery, we also had to source for plants that we could use as a replacement for the sedums.

It will be a busy week of submissions ahead followed by the preparation for our event this weekend.

Nonetheless, I believe we will be able to overcome this hectic period.
