Entry #1
29th September 2018
Today marks the beginning of our ET9135 module- a module that I have been looking forward to as I have always dreamt of starting up a business.
Prior to the lesson, my group have been trying hard to generate ideas for this session. Although we came out with many different ideas, there were only a few that we felt were feasible for our business execution. We had an idea sharing session, where my team shared on our terrarium idea and was given a green light to go ahead by Mr Roderick.
Some feedback that we had received were
- Creativity and design will be a key factor for our business to differentiate from competitors
- We shouldn’t restrict ourselves to airplants and can consider moss
Hence with these feedback, we will try to research and explore on more terrarium options.
We were in luck when we found out that there is a Farmers’ market at Kranji. Hence, we went down to the Kranji Countryside Farmers’ market after our lesson in hopes of finding out more on the plants that we could use in terrariums. However, upon exploring the event venue, we realised it consists mostly of local produce which were not what we were looking for. It only had a small area that was selling large potted plants. We then left the venue in the evening after a hot and humid afternoon spent at the countryside.
There’s still lots of research to do for our terrarium idea, especially on the plants since I have never grown a plant before!!
Till next time!
