Entry #8

Do it for the gram

28th October 2018

Alright so heres just a progress update; we had a few rounds of voting for a couple of things: the name card, the sticker, and also the mood/look of our event booth.

So here are some mood boards for us to conceptualise the look of our booth:

In the end, the group liked the white + wood + fairy lights look most so when Cheryl and I went to Daiso to purchase the logistics for our photoshoot and booth we kept an extra look out for such items.

This is the finalised name card design (which will be sent to Shun Kai for printing) and will be displayed at our booth during the event!

We are also planning to add our brand logo to the paper bags that we are going to order from Taobao. The extra charge for customised printing is quite high, however, so I made a simple layout of stickers on an A4 sheet that we could print and stick onto the bags at a relatively lower cost just in case.

Edit: this was eventually scrapped as we decided to add the name cards to every purchase instead so that customers could find us online, and didn't see the value in printing the stickers anymore.

And of course, in lieu of our first event and everything starting to get officially set up, we started all of our social media accounts! We needed content to populate them with, though, and since I had some extra free time today after purchasing the Daiso stuff I went to Cheryl's and got started on taking photos for our feed.

Having to squeeze between the table and wall was... not a friendly reminder that I need to exercise and watch my diet more :')

After a lot of sorting through, I picked the first image that caught my eye and edited it (with lots of discussion and feedback from Jia Xin) as such to use as our first ever post!

I suggested standardising the white border and the watermark for all of our posts so that it looks like there is some care that was given to the photos. It might be extra effort, but I don't see us carrying Cheryl's dad's camera to every other event so most of our photos from here on out might not be taken with a professional camera and having that little bit of border gives a bit of leeway for the picture to not be perfectly square. Plus, i'm sure it'll look great once it's populated with more posts. Maybe. Only time will tell.

Till the next post!
